One month ago, our sweet baby boy arrived at 2:04 p.m. It’s hard to believe that it’s already been a whole month, and that I’ve been off work for five weeks now. Time truly does fly!
It’s true what they say: you don’t accomplish anything on maternity leave other than taking care of baby and trying to sleep when you can. Grand ideas of organizing closets or cleaning out basements while baby’s sleeping? Yeah, right. It’s more like logging hours of time with Law and Order while feeding a child who seemingly needs to eat all day long. Laundry and dirty dishes pile up; you don’t brush your teeth until noon; and often, you forget to shower or even change clothes. Learning how to take care of a newborn is exhausting. But looking at that sweet face or feeling his little arms wrap around you somehow makes you not notice how tired you are.
Here are a few of my favorite pictures from Cooper’s first month.
We’ve taken so many pictures, it’s hard to choose favorites! The photos above include Cooper’s very first picture right after he was born; leaving the hospital; the first nap in his crib; his first bath; and watching a KU basketball game.
We also had newborn photos taken by Casey Wright, who also shot our maternity photos last November. All of those photos were amazing, of course, so I didn’t include any of them above; I’ll save those for a separate post.
