living an unconventional life, one cocktail at a time

Happy birthday to me, parts two and three.

It’s been weeks since my birthday, and at my advanced age I can’t remember half of what I was going to say about the other two parts of my celebration, but I guess that just means that the stuff I do remember must have really been great. Right? The actual day of my birth– a Friday– started off pretty great, even though I couldn’t sleep in (toddlers don’t get the memo that mommies...

Welcome, summer.

Summer is here! Summer’s always been my favorite season– as a child, of course it was because school was out. It’s also because I much prefer being hot over being cold; though I admit, the older I get, the less I can tolerate the heat that seems to only be getting worse in our crazy part of the world. We planned on sitting by the pool, eating dinner and drinking margaritas all night. What did my awesome husband do to help me out? What didn’t he...

Dave tells me they retail for something like $600, but they paid maybe $25 for each of them. The crazy idea never...

Water Baby.

I think we have a little fish on our hands. Cooper got his first taste of the pool last night with daddy, in preparation for today’s Aquababy class. Decked out in a swim diaper and one of the gazillion pairs of swim trunks he has (all of which will come in handy this summer, for sure), he tried out his new inflatable turtle. He LOVED it. Of course, I think all he really wanted to do was eat the turtle....
