Happy new year!
We had another quiet last day of the year last night- movies, milkshakes and baby snuggles- while marveling at how quickly yet another year has gone by. Last year, we brought our baby home from the hospital on New Year’s Eve and spent the entire day and night wondering what in the world we were doing.
Quite a change from New Year’s Eve parties of the past.
I usually make some kind of new year’s resolution in my head; I usually fail at keeping them. They’re usually the same as everyone else’s: manage my money better, eat healthier food, get organized, blah blah blah.
I haven’t had much time to think about resolutions for 2013, but I know I have some goals. My friend Sarah wrote a great blog post about her goals-slash-resolutions and the S.M.A.R.T. technique she used to create them. Another friend (and photographer of our amazing baby pictures this past year), Casey, wrote about her New Year’s Revolution and the goals she has for 2013.
The idea of posting personal goals on the internet is a little scary, but I like the idea of being held accountable. Even if no one reads it, I’ll know it’s out there.
I’ll take some time this week to think about the specific things I really want to accomplish in 2013- instead of vague, generic ideas- and how I can be successful, and maybe I’ll work up enough nerve to share them.
